Offers and Information

Dental disease is the most common condition affecting the health of adult dogs.  It is seen in a high percentage of canines over 3 years of age, yet very few owners follow a dental care regime to prevent the problem from developing in the first place.

During the month of March we take part in oral care month which aims to educate owners about preventative dental health care and also identify the early signs of periodontal disease in your dog.

Contact the practice during March to arrange a free nurse dental check and receive your free dental samples.

Small animal exports

Are you planning to emigrate or take your much loved pet with you on holiday abroad?

Animal exports can be a complicated and time consuming process with a significant amount of associated paperwork. There are a wide range of requirements involved in the export process depending on the destination country.

Our trained official veterinarians can offer you invaluable advice at an early stage, on all the requirements; from implanting identichips, rabies vaccination, completing export health certificates, bloods tests, treatment for external parasites and clinical examinations prior to travel, etc.

Feel free to contact us to discuss any potential small animal export. It is vital that sufficient time is allowed prior to export to fulfil the necessary requirements.

Budgeting the cost of veterinary healthcare

Veterinary medicine has developed rapidly over the last few years. This has enabled us to offer sophisticated treatment encompassing the latest techniques currently used in human hospitals, giving the highest levels of care to keep your pet in the best possible health. However, such treatment can become expensive, particularly for complex and/ or long-standing conditions. Without provision for these unexpected costs, veterinary bills can quickly escalate.

Pet Insurance

For non-routine bills we would recommend taking out pet insurance to help with any unexpected fees. Having a sick or injured pet is stressful enough without the worry of having to make decisions on their treatment based on affordability.

There are numerous companies now offering cover for such an eventuality. It pays to read the small print though; some policies may only pay out for a maximum of a year for each condition, and limits per claim may not cover the entire cost of treatment. In addition, they may exclude unrelated conditions of a similar nature in the future. It is definitely worth shopping around to see which companies provide the highest level of support for your budget.
